The App Settings feature is found in the Setup dropdown







LOAN SETTINGS


To be able to view and edit loan products, you need to activate the basic loans. To do this click on the ‘advanced loans’ button


The following actions can be done on the loan settings page;

  1. Enable and Configure top up loans

  2. Enable Parallel customer loans

  3. Configure SMS reminders policy


How to Enable and Configure top up loans

To enable a top up loan is to allow customers to request for top ups on currently held loans, limited to customer approved limit. 

 


Based on the diagram above, you can activate the following by clicking on the different boxes as labeled;

  • To enable top up loans click on 1.

  • To set up when the top up loan should be issued, click on 2 and set the number of days on 3.

  • To select the loans that can allow top up, click on 4, and 5 for normal loans, 6 for rollover loans and 7 for top up loans.

  • To select how the top up limit is calculated select either 8,9 or 10.


To select the accounting approach to be used for top up or restructured loan, select either 1 or 2 as shown in the figure below.

Box 1 for Simple Aggregation and box 2 for advance aggregation



How to enable Parallel Customer Loans

To activate Parallel loans is to allow a customer to have multiple loans at the same time.

To enable this, click on the box under parallel customer loans as shown


How to configure SMS settings policy

Based on the diagram below , you can activate the following by clicking on the different boxes as labeled;

  • To set when the SMS reminders should be sent, click on 1 and then set the days on box 2, separate the number of days to send before the due date using commas, for example 7,3,1 to the due date.

  • To send a reminder on the due date click on 3.

  • To send a reminder after the due date click on 4, then set the number of days to send after the due date has passed on box 5.

  • If you want to select the days to send a reminder after the due date click on 6, and enter the number of the days you want to send the reminder on box 7, the days are separated using commas, for example 1,3,7 th day.

  • To set a maximum number of days to send reminders after the due date, click on 8 then enter the number of days on box 9.

  • To send reminders on all loan notifications, click on box 10.


After configuring these changes click on the save button at the bottom of the page to save the loan settings.
